The Hope Calendar

For so many of us 2020 has been a really tough year. Millions of people have died or become infected with Coronavirus, and the world as we knew it has been turned upside down. To help people doing it tough, we set up the Kindness Pandemic Facebook group spreading Intersectional Kindness - or kindness for EVERYONE. Our mantra is: acts of kindness won't make Coronavirus go away - but it can change what we experience.

Within weeks of setting up the Kindness Pandemic group on 14 March, we became one of the fastest growing Facebook groups in the world; with over 1/2 million members and more than 65 local Kindness Pandemic groups around the globe. People told us that Kindness Pandemic bought them hope. Hope that they could get through COVID19 because people were reaching out to support each other. And hope that kindness might 'stick' and help create a more connected and compassionate world after COVID19.

As 2020 draws to a close we want to spread even more hope. Our members told us they want us to focus on more acts of kindness AND gratitude for the month of December - to help spread HOPE for 2021.

So, we are launching our #HopeCalendar, to count down the New Year and spread hope. The Calendar shares a daily story about people's experiences of COVID19 and the kindness that helped them through it. These are often stories of hardship and always stories of hope. The stories remind us that - acts of kindness can help to make sure that 2021 is a better year.
