Kofi Kindness - a Gratitude Journal for Tough Times
My name is Kofi Aden, I am 13 years old and I live in Melbourne, Australia. I was invited to participate in a 60 day gratitude challenge in the Kindness Pandemic - to post everyday. I said yes. After 60 days of expressing gratitude consciously, I made gratitude a part of my daily routine; it became a habit to express thankfulness.
Gratitude for me is about appreciating what I have. Participating in the gratitude challenge helped me to really concentrate on those things I may have taken for granted before. I really looked at my day and realised all of the things that made my day happier, easier, and more fun - or taught me something. I became more aware of my feelings and my gratitude grew.
I am grateful that Drummond Street Services and the Kindness Pandemic helped me make a 60 day Gratitude Journal and offer it to people for free. You can follow me on Instagram @KofiKindness
thanks, Kofi

Grateful Families
In Kofi's Journal he talks about how keeping a gratitude journal helped his relationships with his family. For children and family members who want focus on 'what is working' in their relationships with other family members - and don't want to do a 60 day journal - here is a Grateful Families activity for you.
The activity draws on research showing that the daily practice of gratitude can have physical benefits and reduce stress. Gratitude won't change the situation you are in - but it may change your experience of it. Being grateful doesn't mean you can't be angry or sad or frustrated - these feelings are very real. Sometimes gratitude can be a life raft on the high seas ... something to grab a hold of when things are tough. It may not work for you, that's okay.
