I'm so proud to see our community in action during this difficult time.
The Kindness Pandemic is an online movement created ... to support people whose lives have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic ....
Thank you to Catherine and the entire team. The Hon Martin Foley MP
We'd like to celebrate the many unsung, unassuming, unpaid stalwarts of the community, who, in acts of random kindness, have helped Victoria muddle its way through.
Here are just a few of those stories (link). ABC Melbourne
Thankyou
There is so much lovely feedback from group members and the community, we wanted to set up a page to share it with you all

- Brenton G: I just wanted to thank this page for even just existing ! We live in a time when Social Media isnt always very "Social" so its very refreshing to see a page where happiness and kindness is shown rather than the negativity elsewhere. I dont have a story to share, but I do hope this Pandemic will help society as a whole re-learn Values and respect towards each other

Poems
The Kindness Pandemic, by Gayelene Carbis
And even in this season which has brought us this,
there are still gifts,
the graces of kindness and unexpected solace.
The mother who finds
something to eat every night even when she can’t think
of what to have
next. The neighbour who stops in her car to ask if
everyone’s all right,
how are you coping? And then there’s all the warmth of
Autumn with
its reds and golds in the streets, in the sky. And the
daily proofs of
humanity with the friends and strangers coming out of
the woodwork
to drop off books, leave DVDs on your doorstep. Calls
for help are
answered; cries of despair echoed as voice after voice
says yes, I too
am going through what you’re going through. In this
isolation there is
the endless adaptability of our species as we find
other ways to connect,
our arms like branches reaching out towards each
other, talking like
trees, and as timeless.

A message from Minister Martin Foley
We were delighted on 4th May that the Hon Martin Foley MP, Minister for Mental Health, Equality and Creative Industries in Victoria posted about the Kindness Pandemic. This post was special because so many of us value the work Minister Foley is doing to promote equality.
Our Community In Action - #1 The Kindness Pandemic: I'm so proud to see our community in action during this difficult time. The Kindness Pandemic is an online movement created by local St Kilda resident Dr Catherine Barrett to support people whose lives have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. It has now gone viral with over half a million followers. ... The Kindness Pandemic is underpinned by principles of intersectional kindness, encouraging locals to look out for people who are marginalised or experiencing new hardships because of coronavirus.
