About Random Acts of Kindness in Supermarkets
Our first Campaign is for Random Acts of Kindness in supermarkets - there is clearly a need with reports of staff being attacked, bruised and scratched. Supermarket staff are working to help make sure we have the supplies we need. On 15th March we called on people to undertake a Random Act of Kindness in a supermarket. We encouraged people to write to their local supermarket or print out messages about kindness and place them in their local supermarket.
In the section below you will see two of the posters that were made by artist Kenton Penley Miller for people to take to their supermarket. There is also an album of social media posts that group members have written about their Random Acts of Kindness in Supermarkets.

Random Acts
The Random Acts of Kindness shared by members of #TheKindnessPandemic are heartwarming. Here are some of the actions taken - please note we do not encourage you to go to your supermarket to deliver these messages, you can post or email. Some people who had to go to the supermarket took actions in person - but they can be done by email or post or phone.
- Posted a message of support for staff on the supermarket community noticeboard or around the supermarket
- Posted messages in the supermarket reminding shoppers to be kind to staff
- Purchase chocolates at the supermarket and then gave them to staff
- Asked staff how they were coping
- Greeted staff by the name on their name tag
- Thanked staff.
