The Work campaign

The Australian Government estimates the impacts of COVID19 may mean as many as 1 million Australians are out of work. Work is important for our health and wellbeing. Most of us need to work to pay for housing and food. Work also builds our self esteem and confidence, encourages us to connect with others and builds our mental wellbeing. Our work Campaign has two parts, the first to support people whose work situation has changed as a result of COVID19 - by documenting stories of the innovative ways people have adapted to changes in work. This includes people moving their work to online delivery, reinventing their work, taking on new work.

The second is support more longer term unemployed who are experiencing additional difficulty because of COVID19.

#TransferingSkills Campaign

The first stage of this campaign involves sharing stories of people who have had to change workplaces, transfer their skills to a new workplace. To participate:
  1. Tell us how COVID19 changed the work you had (eg: unemployment, reduced employment, business moved to online)
  2. Tell us what impacts the changes had on you (eg: your financial situation and wellbeing)
  3. Tell us how you adapted
  4. Share your story to our Facebook Group, Instagram or Twitter to inspire others (links at top of the page)
  5. Please use the hashtag #TransferringSkills

Longer term unemployed

This part of the Campaign will be developed in the coming weeks.
